  • Local heatmaps start on Growth, with none on Starter.

WriterGPT vs Search Atlas Pricing Comparison

The pricing structures are different. WriterGPT sells subscriptions with article, word and image allowances, plus plans that use your own AI API keys. Search Atlas uses Universal Credits shared across content creation, audits, keyword tracking and other operations.

Pro$399400,0004 projects, 5 seats46,000
AgencyFrom $9991,000,000+10 projects, 10 seats1050,000

Starter's AI Visibility allows 1 project, 1 provider and 500 credits, and its site audit allowance is 50,000 pages. Growth adds ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode plus Meta and Google Ad Studio. Pro adds Copilot, Perplexity and Claude, for six AI platforms, and white-label dashboards. Agency adds client portals, branded dashboards, unlimited keyword tracking, priority support eligibility and five implementation hours on annual plans. Search Atlas advertises annual billing at $79, $159 and $319 a month for the first three plans, though its pricing page showed only monthly billing when we read it, so check the exact annual total at checkout.

Understanding Universal Credits

Every action draws from one shared pool: site audits, content generation, keyword tracking, AI visibility queries and publishing. Search Atlas's help center describes the Starter plan's 50,000 credits as enough for roughly 50 premium AI articles, or 100 AI content edits, or 1,500 keyword rank checks. Those are alternatives for the same budget, not three separate allowances. We did not re-read that help page, so treat the article counts as estimates.

Cost for 100 articles

100 articles of 2,000 words is 200,000 words. WriterGPT Pro covers 150 articles for $12.99/month ($9.08 billed yearly). Search Atlas Growth is estimated at about 100 premium articles for $199/month (about $159 on advertised annual billing), if every credit goes to writing. On those figures WriterGPT is about 93% cheaper on monthly billing. If you also run rank checks or audits, fewer credits remain for articles.

Cost for 500 articles

500 articles is about 1 million words. WriterGPT Agency covers 800 articles for $49.99/month ($35 billed yearly), with 800 AI images. Search Atlas Pro is estimated at about 350 premium articles for $399/month, so 500 articles points to its Agency plan, from $999/month and an estimated 900 articles, or a separate credit arrangement. WriterGPT is about 95% cheaper than the $999 starting price.

Pricing verdict: WriterGPT has substantially lower costs for people mainly buying AI content production. Search Atlas costs more but includes SEO datasets, technical tools, rank tracking, backlink research and local business management, so weigh the price against the tools you will actually use.

AI Article Writer: WriterGPT vs Content Genius

WriterGPT provides Quick Write, its standard article writer and Semantic Writer, with choices for length, language, SEO mode, keywords and instructions. Drafts can be edited, exported, saved and published.

Search Atlas Content Genius supports:

  • Writing from a keyword or topic.
  • Researching ranking pages.
  • SEO content briefs and outlines.
  • Bulk AI article creation.
  • Live content scoring.
  • NLP keyword suggestions.
  • Article editing and internal link recommendations.
  • AI image generation and CMS publishing.
  • Article version restoration.

Verdict: WriterGPT suits affordable content generation with several dedicated SEO writing modes. Search Atlas suits live SERP analysis and grading inside the editor. Article quality cannot be judged from feature lists alone.

Bulk Article Generation

WriterGPT Bulk Writer supports topic lists, CSV imports, multiple writing modes, images, job monitoring, article editing and publication, and its BYOK plans suit large batches on your preferred AI providers. Search Atlas's Write with AI in Bulk creates multiple articles from approved settings, shows progress, and adds a review queue and CMS sync status.

Verdict: WriterGPT is more attractive on subscription cost and direct model-provider billing. Search Atlas integrates bulk writing more closely with its keyword, topic planning and SERP scoring tools.

Semantic SEO and Content Scoring

WriterGPT's Semantic Writer is a guided workflow covering keyword relationships, entities, outlines, competitor research and related topics. You can review and adjust the research before the article is generated.

Search Atlas analyzes search results and recommends relevant terms, target word counts, heading structures, topic coverage, competitor comparisons and improvements, with a live content score in the editor.

Verdict: WriterGPT offers a guided research-and-writing process, and Search Atlas has the clearly documented advantage in live SERP-based editing and scoring. Treat neither score as a prediction of an exact Google ranking.

Keyword Research and Rank Tracking

WriterGPT's Keywords module covers discovery, related topics, content gaps and writing plans, and connects to SEO Copilot, Semantic Writer and the Content Calendar. Search Atlas offers a broader suite: volume estimates, difficulty, search intent, competitor keywords, keyword gaps, SERP research, geographic targeting and rank tracking. Its plans track 2,000 keywords on Starter, 3,500 on Growth, 6,000 on Pro and 50,000 on Agency.

Verdict: Search Atlas has the stronger documented independent keyword dataset and rank tracking. WriterGPT suits users whose main goal is finding keywords and turning them into content.

Backlink Research

Search Atlas provides backlink analysis through Site Explorer and related authority tools: referring domains, backlinks, competitors and linking opportunities, plus link-building and outreach-related services. WriterGPT offers competitor research, internal linking, Content Audit and SEO Copilot, but a dedicated backlink index comparable to Search Atlas is not publicly documented.

Verdict: Search Atlas has a clear advantage for backlink research. WriterGPT's internal linking and content-focused competitor tools are not substitutes for an external backlink database.

OTTO SEO vs WriterGPT Autopilot

This is the most important technical difference between the two platforms.

How Search Atlas OTTO SEO works

OTTO reviews pages, identifies SEO issues and proposes changes. Its documented functions include:

  • Title tag updates.
  • Meta description changes.
  • Heading improvements.
  • Schema markup.
  • Internal links.
  • Selected technical SEO fixes.
  • Content recommendations.
  • Site monitoring.
  • Approved or configured automatic deployment.

OTTO applies changes through an installed website script or a supported Cloudflare integration. With the script, some changes are inserted into the page after JavaScript runs. Its edge-level Cloudflare method modifies HTML before it reaches supported visitors and crawlers. The number of sites OTTO powers depends on the plan: 1 on Starter, 2 on Growth, 4 on Pro and 10 on Agency.

How WriterGPT Autopilot works

Autopilot focuses on content performance. It uses Search Console data to find articles losing visibility, prepares updates and submits them for approval, and approved content is then published through connected website workflows.

Autopilot and OTTO compared

CapabilityWriterGPT AutopilotSearch Atlas OTTO

Inject on-page changes using a scriptNot a core methodYes
Edge-level HTML changesNot documented as a core featureSupported Cloudflare method
Site-wide technical recommendationsSEO agents and auditsOTTO and Site Auditor
Deployment pause and reversalDepends on the publishing workflowOTTO can disable deployed fixes

OTTO can cut manual work on repetitive site changes and helps teams managing many pages and technical issues. Its changes still need careful review, especially on sites with existing SEO plugins, caching, custom schema or complex themes, because script-inserted changes can behave differently from changes written into the server-generated page. For significant metadata or structured data updates, check the rendered output and crawler access.

Verdict: Search Atlas is stronger in documented technical SEO deployment. WriterGPT focuses on content analysis, content refreshes and publishing approved editorial changes. The capabilities overlap but are not the same.

Technical Site Audits

WriterGPT includes a Site Audit Agent, Content Audit, Internal Linking Agent and Schema Optimization Agent for content and technical problems on connected sites. Search Atlas has a dedicated Site Auditor that crawls pages for issues in metadata, links, indexing and site structure, with large crawl allowances: 50,000 pages on Starter, 100,000 on Growth, 10 million on Pro and unlimited on Agency.

Verdict: Search Atlas has the advantage in documented crawl capacity and dedicated technical SEO reporting. WriterGPT provides technical analysis inside its wider content and SEO agent system.

Topical Maps and Content Planning

WriterGPT combines Keyword Research, content gaps, Semantic Writer, Outcomes and the Content Calendar to build an editorial plan around related topics. Search Atlas offers a dedicated visual Topical Maps tool: start from a seed keyword and get related topics, questions, supporting articles and pillar-page opportunities, then connect the map to its Content Planner and article writer.

Verdict: Search Atlas has the more explicitly documented visual topic-mapping interface. WriterGPT offers keyword grouping and content planning without a separate standalone topical map tool.

Content Audits and Existing Article Improvements

WriterGPT's Content Audit finds weaknesses and missing information in existing content, and its findings connect to the Article Editor, SEO Copilot and Autopilot. Search Atlas's Onpage Audit checks:

  • Title tags.
  • Meta descriptions.
  • Keyword usage.
  • Heading structure.
  • Internal links.
  • Page speed signals.
  • Other on-page SEO checks.

You can review suggested fixes and run another audit after making them.

Verdict: both give useful content and page analysis. WriterGPT ties audits to its writing and refresh workflows, while Search Atlas offers more detailed technical and SERP-focused checks.

AI Visibility: WriterGPT vs Search Atlas QUEST

WriterGPT AI Visibility monitors selected prompts, brand mentions, citations and competing brands across supported answer engines, and connects the results to SEO reporting and content tools.

Search Atlas QUEST tracks brand appearances in AI responses. Its documented metrics include brand mentions, mention position, visibility score, share of voice, domain citations, sentiment and competitor comparisons. Provider coverage depends on the plan: Starter allows 1 provider with 500 AI visibility credits, Growth covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode, and Pro covers six platforms including Copilot, Perplexity and Claude.

Verdict: both offer genuine AI visibility monitoring. Search Atlas documents more metrics and plan-specific provider limits, and WriterGPT may cost less if you only need a modest number of monitored prompts alongside writing. Neither can guarantee that an AI platform will cite a particular site.

Local SEO and Google Business Profile Management

Search Atlas has a major advantage in local SEO. Its local features include:

  • Google Business Profile management: 3 profiles on Starter, 10 on Growth, 25 on Pro and 100 on Agency.
  • Local rank tracking.
  • Geographic rank heatmaps: none on Starter, 15 on Growth, 30 on Pro and 100 on Agency.
  • Business listings and citations.
  • Local competitor research.
  • Review-related workflows.
  • Reporting for multiple business locations.

These suit restaurants, clinics, retail stores, service businesses and local SEO agencies. WriterGPT can create local business content, research keywords, review pages and publish articles, but a dedicated Google Business Profile module and local rank heatmap tool are not publicly documented.

Verdict: Search Atlas is the stronger choice for dedicated local SEO operations. WriterGPT suits customers mainly producing local website content and maintaining existing pages.

AI Humanizer and AI Images

WriterGPT offers a Humanizer and Stealth Writer as separate tools for readability, sentence variety and natural phrasing. Search Atlas builds humanization-related functions into Content Genius editing, and its newer editor combines writing improvements into a Refiner workflow. Neither can guarantee results on every AI detector.

For images, WriterGPT has individual and bulk generation, can use Pixabay stock photography first in its bulk workflow, and includes monthly image allowances. Search Atlas offers AI image generation and editing help in the Content Genius editor, which may consume Universal Credits or product allowances.

Verdict: WriterGPT has a dedicated humanization interface and a clear bulk image workflow with specified allowances. Search Atlas places these inside a broader SEO editing workflow.

WordPress and CMS Publishing

WordPressYesYes
ShopifyYesYes

JoomlaYesCheck connector availability

WriterGPT's WordPress plugin supports publishing, metadata, images and publication status, and can publish automatically after generation. Search Atlas says every plan connects and publishes to any CMS, including WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and custom stacks, and its support documentation describes several more connector workflows. Some connectors are being updated, so verify the active connection process for your CMS.

Verdict: both support the important platforms. WriterGPT's Ghost and Joomla workflows matter if you use those systems, and Search Atlas offers more connector options whose availability and setup vary.

Content Calendar, Repurposing and Reporting

WriterGPT provides a Content Calendar, Social Posts and Repurpose Hub for planning articles and creating other formats from approved drafts, plus SEO Reports and Public Reports tied to site analysis, content updates, keyword research and AI visibility. Search Atlas has a Content Planner and content rewriting tools to group topics, set deadlines and track drafts, markets broader social content tools, and reports across keyword rankings, backlinks, technical audits, organic traffic, local SEO results, AI visibility, Google Business Profiles and selected advertising metrics.

Verdict: both help plan and reuse content. WriterGPT is well suited to article-led repurposing and reporting closely tied to content production. Search Atlas offers broader SEO and marketing reporting.

Agency Features and White Label

WriterGPT provides Business and Agency subscriptions with multi-site support, approval workflows, reporting and white-label or agency features. Its Agency plan includes up to 10 connected sites within its published allowances, and client access and reseller permissions should be confirmed before you buy.

Search Atlas lists explicit team and project limits: Starter has 1 seat and 1 project, Growth 3 seats and 2 projects, Pro 5 seats and 4 projects, and Agency 10 seats and 10 projects. Pro adds white-label dashboards and reporting, and Agency adds client portals and branded dashboards.

Verdict: Search Atlas has more extensively documented agency reporting and client portals. WriterGPT is the lower-cost option for agencies mainly managing writing, content publishing, SEO maintenance and related reports.

API and MCP Integration

WriterGPT provides API documentation and an MCP server with more than a dozen tools for articles, social posts, the knowledge base, WordPress and Shopify sites, writing modes, templates, generation, jobs and publishing, with OAuth-based user approval. Search Atlas provides a REST API and an MCP server, and its documentation advertises more than 220 MCP tools across OTTO SEO, keyword research, Content Genius, Site Explorer, local SEO, AI Visibility, reporting and advertising, with OAuth and API-key authentication depending on the connection type.

Verdict: both offer external integration. Search Atlas has a much larger documented MCP catalog, and WriterGPT offers a smaller, writing-focused MCP tied to its article and SEO management tools. Tool count does not decide reliability, so check the specific operations you need.

Google Ads and Other Marketing Features

Search Atlas includes Smart Ads for Google Ads, covering campaign preparation, keyword grouping, ad copy and performance reporting, and markets selected Meta advertising workflows. Its pricing page lists Meta and Google Ad Studio from the Growth plan. Some Meta documentation differs on which functions are live, so verify availability on your plan. WriterGPT's primary offering has no comparable advertising campaign product.

Verdict: Search Atlas has broader documented advertising capabilities. WriterGPT stays focused on AI content, SEO research, publishing and website improvement.

Free Trial Comparison

WriterGPT advertises a seven-day trial with 20,000 words and five AI images, access to its supported tools, and a payment method required, with cancellation before billing begins.

Search Atlas advertises a seven-day trial with free 1-on-1 onboarding, a 30-minute session to set up your account, and billing after the trial unless you cancel. Some plans or sign-ups may involve initial payment conditions, so check the checkout terms.

Verdict: both give a seven-day evaluation. WriterGPT specifies a clear starting word and image allowance, and Search Atlas gives access to a broader set of research and SEO tools, subject to account permissions.

Important Limitations of AI SEO Tools

Neither WriterGPT nor Search Atlas can guarantee search rankings. Performance depends on the quality of published information, relevance to search intent, competition, site condition, crawling, indexing and external references. Review AI-generated articles for accuracy, originality and reader usefulness, and read Google's spam policies before publishing at scale.

Check technical website changes before deployment. If you use OTTO, understand where its changes are applied and whether they appear in server-generated or JavaScript-rendered HTML. If you use WriterGPT Autopilot, review the generated changes before approving publication. SEO automation helps most when it supports good decisions instead of replacing quality checks.

WriterGPT vs Search Atlas: Final Verdict

WriterGPT and Search Atlas overlap in several features, but their main strengths differ.

WriterGPT is attractive for affordable AI content production and content-focused SEO management. Its writing tools include Quick Write, Bulk Writer, Semantic Writer, six SEO modes, a Humanizer, an Article Editor and several CMS integrations, and its SEO tools include Keyword Research, Content Audit, SEO Copilot, Autopilot, AI Visibility, Internal Linking and reporting. The $28/month BYOK subscription and $297 lifetime option are especially relevant for people generating a lot of content.

Search Atlas is the stronger documented option for broader SEO operations. It provides rank tracking, backlink research, technical audits, OTTO deployment, local SEO, Google Business Profile management, SERP content scoring, topical maps and agency dashboards, which explains why its subscriptions cost considerably more.

Our recommendation

Choose WriterGPT if you mainly write SEO articles, create content in bulk, improve existing articles, monitor content performance and publish to several sites at a lower cost. Choose Search Atlas if you need a larger SEO research database, technical site automation, backlinks, local SEO tools, rank tracking and advanced agency reporting. For some agencies the two can complement each other: WriterGPT for article creation and content maintenance, and a separate research platform for backlink, local ranking or technical SEO data. The best choice depends on which functions you need and how often you use them.
